Etiquette and Polite Behavior at Clothing-Free and Clothing-Optional Locations

No matter where you go, there are always rules of etiquette and polite behavior, and clothing-optional and clothing-free locations are no exception. There are a few things to remember when shedding your clothes to socialize with others!

et•i•quette
noun
the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group.

Towels

Always bring and use your own towel when you sit. This is for everyone’s health!

Eye Contact

Do not gawk or stare. During a conversation, eye contact is good, and most people don't enjoy having to tell someone 'Hey, my eyes are up here!'

Showers

Rinse off before entering pools and hot tubs. We're not judging! But dirt, sunscreen, lotion, even sweat from a lot of people make the water cloudy.

Personal Space

Respect personal space. Not everyone likes hugs, and some people, especially now, have health concerns!

Photography

No photos or videos! If you want to take a picture, get permission from the resort and subject(s), and be sure you don’t get any people in the background! Resort staff will usually help you find an appropriate location.

Etiquette and Polite Behavior Treat Others as You Wish to be Treated!

Always be polite and respectful.

Report inappropriate behavior to the staff or front desk immediately!
